For Doctors

Following an injury at work, your patient will normally consult their local General Practitioner for treatment. You as the doctor then takes on the role as the "Nominated Treating Doctor" for the purposes of the workers compensation scheme.

The role of the Nominated Treating Doctor is to oversee your patient’s medical management as well as participate in their return to work process. Your primary concern is your patient’s medical welfare and to ensure appropriate medical treatment is provided to your patients in order to assist in their recovery and return to work.

The secondary role is to provide information to the workers compensation insurer and rehabilitation provider ( which is us, Better Recovery Group) in respect of the nature of your patient’s injury and assist in their return to work.

Being a nominated treating doctor may be stressed by the confusing and time consuming complexities of patients in CTP and Workers Compensation consultations, claims and paperwork. Better Recovery Group has a specially dedicated Injury management Advisor team to help you navigate every aspect of patient insurance claims, including the legal aspects.

Yes – we specialise in arguable work. We can assist your patients who have been in a MVA or workplace injury return to work and life. They may not know that they are entitled to this assistance so it is important to ask them if they have a CTP or Workers Compensation claim. We also provide assistance to your patients who cannot work and have a Life Insurance or Income Protection Insurance policy.
